Availability of signing in with your TV provider may vary by country or region.
Sling reps have tried a few things to remedy but none work. And the VOD is so limited that it doesn't offer us much of an alternative. I've talked to Sling about getting more network apps to recognize Sling as a tv provider, thinking that at least I could go to the individual apps and stream content. I am having the exact same problem. It just freezes on the splash screen and only triggers an Exit Sling Tv if I press the Back button on the roku remote. I never even get to the login. On the other end, all other apps in Roku are working well and I can also access Sling in my mac or iphone, so it seems the problem is only the Sling app on Roku. That will bring you to a user interface very similar to what you see with the old Sling TV app on Mac and older Windows PCs. Sling TV did add that they are working on bringing this to Safari browser. Check that your AirPlay-compatible devices are on.
Sign in with your TV provider
You can sign in with your TV provider in Settings or the first time you use a supported app. After you sign in, any other supported app automatically signs you in so you don't need to enter your information again. If your TV provider has its own app, your device might automatically download it after you sign in.
